The Seapower Capability Center (SCC) located in Portsmouth, RI has an opening for a Value Stream Leader. This position will work across multiple portfolios that include cable and harness assemblies, hardware integration, and system level testing. Responsibilities include full leadership and management accountability regarding the performance on all aspects of safety, quality, schedule, and cost performance for the multi-cell/multi-shift operation. The Value Stream Leader will be responsible for setting the standard and operational excellence throughout the organization. This position requires an independent, self-motivated leader, that can drive the organization to meet goals and objectives consistently.
This role requires daily interaction with other cross-business teams to maintain and meet organizational goals and objectives. These groups include technical support, manufacturing/test/design engineering, maintenance, production control, finance and various program management offices. Achieving/exceeding safety, quality, delivery, cost goals and identifying and implementing continuous improvement opportunities using CORE, six sigma and lean methodologies are critical performance criteria for this position.
What You Will Do
- Supports deployment of manufacturing operations strategy, control systems, tools and metrics to accurately measure progress and drive continuous improvement.
- Overall execution of delivery commitments
- Workforce planning and forecasting, and employee hiring and training and
- Area layout and flow management
- Capital identification and control of overhead expenses
- Ensuring the full compliance of company policies and procedures
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a university degree or equivalent experience and minimum 10 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years’ experience.
- Experience in Manufacturing, Operations, Supply Chain, Production, Quality, and/or Engineering.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Management experience includes the ability to make decisions with minimal supervision, goal setting, delegation, coaching, and motivating.
- Manufacturing or industrial engineering and supervisory experience in the aerospace/defense industry.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), presentation skills and interpersonal skills to manage tasks that bridge operations, production control, engineering, supply chain, and customer relations.
- High computer literacy and with confidence and skill working with Microsoft Office Tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Project) and familiarity with Raytheon systems (PRISM, PDM, VBS)
- EVMS Certified
- Experience utilizing lean manufacturing concepts with a proven track record of lean or six sigma project implementations.
