Project Overview:
Bechtel's Manufacturing and Technology (M&T) is an exciting and growing business unit serving the semiconductor, electric vehicle, and datacenter markets, striving to exceed customer objectives through agility, innovative technologies, and world-class talent while solving the industry's toughest challenges for the future. Bechtel is supporting the construction of a semiconductor fabrication facility in Clay, New York, delivering a large, complex, fast-paced project footprint to safely enable advanced manufacturing capacity.
Job Summary:
In this role, you will lead electrical field engineering support for assigned construction areas on a large, complex semiconductor project. You will provide technical direction to field engineers and construction teams, support construction-driven planning and Advanced Work Packaging, help ensure work packages are ready for execution, and coordinate across engineering, construction, procurement, quality, project controls, startup, subcontractors, and client teams. This position supports safe and efficient field execution through drawing and specification review, constructability and issue resolution, material and quantity tracking, progress reporting, inspection, testing, punch list closure, and turnover of completed electrical systems.
Major Responsibilities:
- Lead electrical field engineering support for assigned construction areas, including planning, technical coordination, field issue resolution, inspection, testing, and turnover.
- Provide daily direction and mentoring to field engineers while ensuring work is performed safely and in accordance with current drawings, specifications, procedures, and approved work packages.
- Support construction-driven planning using Advanced Work Packaging principles, including work package development, sequencing, constraint removal, quantity tracking, and workface readiness.
- Coordinate with construction, engineering, procurement, quality, project controls, startup, subcontractors, and client representatives to resolve technical and constructability issues.
- Review construction drawings, specifications, models, vendor data, material requirements, RFIs, and field changes to support timely and practical field execution.
- Help ensure labor, materials, drawings, access, permits, inspections, equipment, and work packages are ready before work begins.
