Wilhelmsen Ships Service (WSS) is looking for a Category Demand Manager- Water and Energy Solutions  


We are looking for a Category Demand Manager - Water and Energy Solutions  to manage and control inventory. The Category Demand Manager - Water and Energy Solutions  will be given the mandate to decide which products to stock at the different warehouses and how much to have in inventory.  Forecasting whilst planning inventory through predictable availability to ensure minimal amounts of excess stock. It will therefore be essential to not only establish but also maintain all planning data in the inventory planning system to ensure correct reorder levels considering variables such as lead time, service levels, Minimum Order Quantity, buffers and beyond. At all times exhibiting a commercially savvy customer focus.   

 
Who you will work with:    
The Category Demand Manager - Water and Energy Solutions reports to the Product and Projects Director - Water and Energy Solutions and will work closely with relevant stakeholders such as Global Inventory, Procurement, Product Management and Sales.   


What you will work on:    
 

  • Planning to secure availability of stocked products 

  • Deciding which products within the product portfolio to keep stocked in the different warehouse locations   

  • Setting the service level on stocked products within the assigned product portfolio   

  • Monitoring increases or decreases in demand of the assigned product portfolio and adjust forecasts accordingly   

  • Planning on the phase-in and phase-out of products   

  • Following-up on monthly lost sales within the Water and Energy Solutions  product portfolio   

  • Supporting and advising Procurement in the initial purchase of new products (includes contracted lead times, configuration, palletising, min order quantity, etc.)   

  • Monitoring excess and obsolete inventory   

  • Providing input on reshuffle potential within the assigned product portfolio during global reshuffle exercises   

  • Ensuring that practices at all times comply with the regulatory approvals, permits, and certification for all products and services within the defined quality, labour conditions, health, safety & environmental systems, procedures, and business practices of the organisation   

   
What you need to succeed in the role:      

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, preferably within economics, business, or supply chain administration

  • Good knowledge of computer programs relevant to Inventory Management (i.e., ERP systems and Inventory Planning solutions)  

  • Good level of fluency in English with proven communication skills  

  • Minimum of 2 years working experience
