Lease Accounting Intern

Summary

CHS has an exciting summer internship opportunity within the Finance Shared Services Accounting team.  The Lease Accounting Intern position is intended to provide a broad experience within Accounting. You must be able to act as a consultant for our team by providing excellent communication, both verbal and written.  Strong attention to detail, flexibility with strong problem-solving ability and ability to prioritize assigned duties and work independently is a must.
 

Responsibilities

• Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations.
• Record journal entries into the general ledger.
• Provide support for monthly reporting, quarterly forecast and annual budget process.
• Prepare monthly analysis reports for business unit management.
• Gain knowledge of various software programs including SAP, JD Edwards, Coupa and Concur.
• Collaborate with Finance Shared Services, Treasury, Corporate Accounting and IT to ensure business needs are being met
• Participate in Continuous Improvement and lean project opportunities within Finance Shared Services and across business departments
• Provide exceptional customer service by researching, resolving, and/or escalating inquiries.
• Perform ad hoc analysis and be involved in projects as assigned. 
• Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.

Minimum Qualifications (required)

• Currently a junior or senior enrolled in a four-year Finance, Business Administration or Accounting degree program
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook

Additional Qualifications

• Knowledge of SAP, BPC, JDE
• Prior related internship experienc
