Position Summary

The Accounting Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily financial operations, with a focus on cash handling procedures and ensuring accurate daily revenue reconciliations. This role works closely with all departments to maintain financial integrity, support reporting needs and contribute to the overall success of the resort’s financial operations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily cash operations, including balancing cash drawers, monitoring cash floats and ensuring accuracy.
  • Oversee and reconcile all cash deposits and ensure timely bank deposits.
  • Enforce internal controls for cash handling across departments.
  • Review and reconcile daily revenue reports, ensuring all income, expenses and variances are accurately recorded.
  • Work with department managers to investigate discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.
  • Prepare and distribute daily revenue and financial performance reports for management review.
  • Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger tasks as needed.
  • Perform month-end closing processes including journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Assist in preparing financial reports for management and ownership.
  • Supervise and train accounting clerks or other team members as assigned.
  • Ensure proper compliance with internal financial policies and external audit requirements.
  • Serve as the accounting liaison with other departments to address financial issues and support operational needs.
  • Maintain accurate and organized financial records.

Education and Experience:

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in accounting or finance with a focus on cash handling and daily reconciliations.
  • Prior experience in the hospitality or resort industry strongly preferred.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and cash management procedures.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office Suite (especially Excel).
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines and prioritize responsibilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse teams.
