Landscape Architect Project Manager
Benesch is seeking to hire a Project Manager for our Landscape Architecture group in our North Carolina division. In this position, you'll step into a first-level management role with guidance from senior leaders. This position entails supervising and training staff alongside continued project management training. Your responsibilities will include organizing and directing projects and ensuring their successful completion within scope, schedule, and budget parameters.
As a Project Manager, your leadership and oversight will ensure the successful execution of projects. Your ability to manage resources effectively, resolve conflicts, and maintain compliance with safety and quality standards will directly contribute to project success and client satisfaction. Through your contributions, you'll help drive the North Carolina division growth and reputation within the industry.
Location
This position will report to our Charlotte office on a hybrid work schedule.
The Impact You Will Have
- Provide direct supervision and overall leadership for assigned projects, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and client needs
- Assume ownership of project financials, optimizing resource allocation and budget management to maximize profitability and client satisfaction
- Develop project scope, schedule, and budget, integrating them into work plans to streamline project execution and enhance efficiency
- Identify necessary resources and effectively delegate staff duties and responsibilities, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment
- Resolve scope, schedule, and budget discrepancies with Group Manager and client, maintaining positive relationships and enhancing client satisfaction
- Check and sign off on deliverables, ensuring completeness and adherence to quality standards, thus enhancing project outcomes and client trust
- Contribute to proposal development, leveraging project successes to secure new opportunities and drive company growth
- Help expand park and recreation in North and South Carolina
What You Will Need
- Bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture from an accredited university program
- PLA/ RLA required
- 10+ years of experience in managing land development projects
- Experience with park and recreation and/or institutional projects preferred
- Technically proficient in site, grading, stormwater, and planting design
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, facilitating clear and concise interactions with clients, team members, and stakeholders
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, enabling efficient decision-making and resolution of complex project challenges
- Exhibit effective leadership qualities, inspiring and guiding team members to achieve project objectives while fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment
- Uphold high ethical standards, maintaining integrity, transparency, and professionalism in all interactions and decisions
- Maintain a customer-centric approach, prioritizing client satisfaction and building long-term relationships based on mutual respect and shared goals
- Exhibit strong networking skills to expand professional connections, identify potential clients, and leverage opportunities for business development
- Understand the planning and design process, how to prepare and organize a set of drawings, and deliverables that typically are associated with each phase of design
- Accountable for full project deliverables
- Visit construction sites to ensure work is being built as shown on the plans
