Job Description
The Distribution Supervisor will serve as a key point of contact within the site warehousing team in prioritizing objectives with internal stakeholders. In partnership with site HR, logistics, and operational leadership, this role is expected to foster a positive work environment and a culture of ownership and accountability.
What you’ll do
- Analyze and monitor the receiving, picking, packaging, assembly, and shipping processes; recommend changes to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and eliminate errors
- Supervise personnel responsible for shipping, receiving, kit assembly, and inventory management; ensure appropriate staffing and workflow execution for effective, on-time results in a manner compliant with LGC’s ISO 13485 quality systems
- Supervise the execution of production plans for kit assembly shop orders that ensure on-time delivery while minimizing on-hand inventory
- Support the cycle count program, annual physical inventory and visual inventory management (Kanban, ROP/ROQ levels)
- Lead problem-solving and continuous improvement efforts within the assignment focus to include resolving shipping delays, completing stock checks, addressing customer complaint and NCMR root cause investigations, etc.
- Export/import shipment problem resolution support.
Qualifications
- High school diploma with previous supply chain operations or warehousing experience
- 5 years of progressive work experience in small-package shipping and receiving functions, both domestic and international
- Ability to lead, manage, and motivate team members through direct line management or influence
- Ability to effectively manage a team of warehousing professionals, including staffing and professional development, and provide operational guidance on various initiatives to achieve project goals
- Fundamental understanding of packaging materials, systems and processes
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with peristaltic pumps, repeat pipettes and other manual and automated dispensing and delivery systems
- Experience working with information technology, including ERP or shipping software (e.g. FedEx, UPS)
- Effective computer skills required, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products, particularly Outlook, Word, and Excel
