INSIDE SALES: 

  • Receive customer phone calls; provide support to outside sales, customers and contractors via phone and in person
  • Refer to product specification guides to determine related product uses and applications
  • Work closely with outside sales representatives regarding sales promotions and initiatives which require phone contact and follow-up
  • Provides customer feedback to management
  • Retrieve information for credit department when needed
  • Enter or modify sales orders into computer point of sale software
  • Attend training, meetings, seminars, and sales meetings as required
  • Assist in preparing monthly aggregate demand for internal and external customers
  • Work closely with production, outside sales and transportation coordinator to understand the product availability and logistic issues of specific projects
  • Check and review all orders assigned before they are shipped against delivery tickets
  • Prepare and review daily sales reports and delivery logs
  • Process payments and submit necessary daily sales paperwork to AR for processing.
  • Properly follow all company policies and OSHA/MSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environment

DISPATCH:

  •  Work with transportation coordinator to facilitate delivery schedules and maintain   customer informed of such schedules
  • Ensure drivers are present and ready to load
  • Prepares weekly schedule for shipment volume and proactively communicates plan externally to customers and internally with production teams
  • Adjust schedule, as needed, to accommodate customer needs
  • Proactively communicate job status and product delivery schedule with customers
  • Handle large volumes of phone calls in a timely manner while making accurate and precise decisions regarding prioritizing loadout schedule
  • Assist transportation coordinator with guiding drivers and all outside haulers, while coordinating with loading crew for next day deliveries
  • Understanding of transportation safety requirements
  • Work closely with Weighmaster, relaying loadout prioritization and customer demand.
  • Back-fill the Weighmaster position as needed during Weighmaster PTO
  • Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed 

Job Requirements

  • Experience in transportation or building material industries preferred
  • Must have reasonable mathematical abilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office/Excel, Word, Outlook programs
  • Ability to read and understand maps
  • Ability to multi-task and be highly organized
  • Demonstrated written / oral communication skills
  • Ability to effectively manage time and resources
  • Ability to interface with peers
  • Willing to work flexible, and extended hours, if needed
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Display a professional and courteous attitude to customers, drivers, hired haulers, co-workers, supervisors, and the general public at all times
