Job Summary/Primary Purpose: The Aquatics Operations Manager is responsible for leading Aquatics operations, safety, and facility management. Provides ongoing staff supervision, maintains daily operational standards, and ensures Aquatics spaces, procedures, and guest experiences are safe, organized, and effective. This position works closely with the Aquatics Program Manager to support approved programming and strengthen overall Aquatics service delivery.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and evaluate short and long-range goals, strategies, and priorities for assigned Aquatics operations to improve safety, operational excellence, participation, and member and guest satisfaction.
- Supervise, schedule, and oversee time records for assigned Aquatics staff and follow all Divisional and Kroc Center HR policies and procedures regarding hiring, training, evaluation, discipline, and termination processes.
- Guide, direct, and develop assigned aquatics staff to deliver exceptional engagement and support positive experiences in all interactions.
- Grow the knowledge and professional expertise of staff to provide excellence in safety, service, and operational support to members and guests.
- Monitor and maintain all Aquatics facilities, supplies, and equipment; coordinating with Facilities department as required to ensure a safe, attractive, and clean environment.
- Ensure all Aquatics safety standards, certification requirements, incident documentation, audits, and applicable local, state, Divisional, and TSA regulations are followed, tracked, and maintained.
- Assure Aquatics staff respond appropriately to emergency situations and that required documentation and reporting procedures are completed accurately and timely.
- Coordinate and facilitate staff trainings, in-services, drills, certifications, and operational development opportunities to maintain excellence in safety and preparedness.
- Actively utilize key performance indicators, attendance data, incident reports, audits, statistics, and evaluations to guide decision making and improve current and future operations.
- Coordinate with the Aquatics Program Manager to support safe, effective, and organized delivery of Aquatics programs, classes, events, and activities.
- Coordinate with Marketing and Program Administration to provide proactive, timely, and clear information regarding Aquatics operations, schedules, closures, and facility updates.
- Participate in the Manager on Duty program.
- All other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervises Lifeguard staff and other assigned Aquatics staff.
Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree (BA or BS) from a four-year college or university preferred; or three (3) plus years of experience in Aquatics operations and staff management. Experience in Aquatics safety measures and compliance preferred.
