The Manufacturing Design Transfer Project Engineer coordinates resources across teams for successful design transfer to the Global Supply Chain. They manage and execute change order implementation, supporting cross-functional teams in addressing complex issues to ensure thorough risk mitigation and resolution for a successful design transfer.
This position reports to the Manufacturing Engineering Managers and is part of the Hardware Manufacturing Engineering Team located in Shrewsbury, MA and will be on-site position.
What you will do:
- Serve as a key stakeholder in Change Control Boards, advising on engineering and manufacturing change requests, evaluations, risk assessments, impact assessments, and defining implementation plans.
- Coordinate Operations resources to collect necessary ECR inputs (Design Transfer, Manufacturing, Materials, Planning, Sourcing), including manufacturing implementation requirements (docs, processes, validation, training, etc.) and disposition planning (material management, phase-in & phase-out planning and WIP).
- Lead collaboration with engineering, sourcing, materials, and operations teams to drive alignment, prioritization, and coordination of resources for successful design transfer to the Global Supply Chain.
- Oversee and manage the execution of all implementation activities for change orders, ensuring timely completion of tasks such as new part registration, BOM updates, supplier communication, material dispositions, and work instructions and MES updates are completed on schedule and within business objectives.
- Drive continuous improvement projects to enhance processes and efficiency within the Global Supply Chain using DBS fundamentals
Who you are:
- A Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related technical field, or an Associate's degree with three or more years of relevant experience in engineering or supply chain management.
- Demonstrated proficiency in change control processes, lifecycle management, new product development, and project management.
- Experience in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks in project management and product development.
- Experience with Bill of Material, Purchase specifications, material requirement planning (MRP), and phase-in / phase out activities.
- Proven ability to communicate and work effectively with diverse teams across engineering, sourcing, materials, and operations.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
- Experience in the Bio-Science, Medical Device, or Pharma industries.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
- Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, such as Oracle or SAP.
