Job Description:
This position is also responsible for producing the annual "Crime in Nebraska" reports and facilitating the transfer or data from law enforcement agencies to the NIBRS Repository, while ensuring timely exchanges or NIBRS data with the FBI CJIS Division. In addition, this position establishes auditing guidelines and procedures to ensure compliance for submitting law enforcement agencies. Furthermore, oversight of the Crime Insight data repository includes managing Nebraska law enforcement agency users, addressing reported issues, and serving as the primary contact for users. Other duties may be assigned as necessary. This position is expected to demonstrate significant initiative and independence in fulfilling their responsibilities.

Job Duties: Ensure the Nebraska Uniform Crime Reporting program complies the FBI Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Division National Incident-Based Reporting standards and protocols, as well as the State-Specific Incident-Based Reporting mandates/requirements Initiated by legislation or executive directives. Established audit procedure/schedule and measure Law Enforcement Agency adherence to data collection projects. Conduct Training for Law Enforcement personnel on data collection standards federal and state data elements necessary for reporting Uniform Crime Reporting to the FBI CJIS. Produce Crime in Nebraska Annual reports. Facilitate the data exchange from Law Enforcement Agencies into the NIBRS Repository and Initiate scheduled data exchange of NIBRS data to the FBI CJIS Division. Establish guidelines and collect data about crimes that manifest evidence of prejudice based on race, religion, disability, sexual orientation, or ethnicity. Oversee the Crime Insight data repository, including management of Nebraska LEA users of the site and the data they report, diagnosing and troubleshooting of Issues reported by site users, and acting as the main point of contact for users of the site. Other duties as assigned with the scope of the classification.
Requirements / Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications: Post high school coursework/training in program evaluation, financial analysis and research techniques, AND experience performing or leading others in program and technical support, research or statistical analysis.
Preferred Qualifications: Post Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, statistics, mathematics, social sciences, or a related field. Experience and knowledge of UCR and NIBRS policies, practices, and applications.
