About the role

JOB SUMMARY

Maintenance Co-op position will consist of attending the Southern Kentucky Community and Technical College at the Simpson County Campus for two days each week on Mondays and Wednesdays. Delta will offer hands on training experience working with the maintenance department in an apprenticeship style program.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES – includes the following:

- Follow all plant safety policies and procedures

- Maintain 5S standards  

-  Assist with plant facilities maintenance

-  Support modification and installation of manufacturing equipment, components, and fixtures.

- Support continuous improvement projects

- Maintain integrity of safety devices including light curtains, safety gates, barriers, etc.

- Make modifications to existing equipment as required

- Support monitoring of spare parts requirements to continuously improve processes

- Under supervision perform PM inspections as required

- Assist with preventive maintenance task

- Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS 

Meet all requirements for SkyFame Program (placement testing, attendance, GPA) Strong mechanical aptitude Commitment to adult learning methods Excellent written communication skills Must be self motivated and have the ability to interpret data for corrective actions.
