The Manager, Software Engineering manages the analysis, design, programming, debugging, modification, and delivery of software for commercial and end user applications. The Manager builds relationships and provides services to meet the needs of clients and takes responsibility for improving processes that are negatively affecting customer satisfaction. The Manager analyzes trends in technology and assesses the impact they have on the business providing solutions to address technology and business issues.

This position has corporate functional leadership obligations and is responsible for supervising hiring, career development, and day-to-day team and project management. The Manager will also be required to carry out other duties, projects, or activities as specified by their management. This Manager will be managing two teams dedicated to Payer services and transactions. Each team is comprised 4-6 of software engineers.

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field of study or the equivalent in documented work experience  

  • 8+ years of relevant technical and business experience in IT systems development management in a technology and/or health care environment 

  • 2+ years of experience managing teams and products in an Agile environment 

  • 3+ years of hands-on development experience required (Java backend/React frontend)

  • Understanding of AWS cloud services, familiarity with Docker, PostgreSQL database

  • Extensive knowledge of the healthcare industry

  • Ability to establish and maintains effective working relationships with internal and external clients/vendors 

  • Proven understanding of the software development life cycle 

  • Proven understanding of web development methodologies, application design, navigation, and information architecture 

  • Ability to launch and deliver multiple, concurrent IT projects on time and within budget 

  • Project forecasting experience

  • Experience leading team in an AWS/Azure/GCP environment
