ABOUT YOUR ROLE
This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of a Global HR team in a large international corporation. Working closely with the HR Director Aftermarket, Apparel Solutions and the local HR team in the US, you will lead the HR day to day activities and people strategies in the US Apparel Solutions Aftermarket business.
The HR Manager Apparel Operations provides local HR business partnering support to multiple sites and is responsible for giving guidance, consultative and hands-on support, promoting positive employee relations. This includes compliance of global and local processes; interpretation of policies and procedures and partnering with managers and employees. The HR Manager is also responsible for coaching managers and driving improvements upon all global organizational people metrics to meet our strategic goal of having an engaged and empowered workforce.
In addition the HR Manager Apparel Operations will play a key role in accelerating business acquisitions by supporting employees during integration, in particular by supporting the understanding and implementation of our Avery Dennison values and policies while protecting the newly acquired business’ talent, culture and ways of working. This combined with providing the best resources, collaboration and knowledge that Avery Dennison offers to further enable success.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:
Activities may include, but are not limited to:
- Work together with site leadership and regional HR director to facilitate long-term HR initiatives aligned with the local and global strategic agenda
- Create and implement employee communication strategies, plans, policies and guidelines in accordance with company’s HR Strategies, in order to sustain company’s culture and enhance employees’ engagement
- Coordinate and execute all HR related activities based on our Corporate M&A playbook to support the acceleration of the acquisition
- Navigate through Avery Dennison and newly acquired business’ during the early stages of acquisitions
- Partner with the site leaders to provide employees with development opportunities and ensure that they are able to meet current and future performance standards
- Manage employee related processes including employee training, performance appraisals, promotions, hirings, and terminations
- Manage employee data in applicable HR systems and provide accurate HR data for analysis as required
- Lead specific projects as determined in the annual HR plan and participate in functional and cross-functional initiatives, including merger and acquisition activities.
- Improve HR effectiveness and internal customer satisfaction by driving continuous improvement activities
- Provide proactive coaching, consultation and direction to management in areas of performance management, training and development, compensation and overall organizational effectiveness
- Counsel and advise employees and the leadership team regarding people policies, industrial relations, labor law, regulations, workforce, organization and employee issues
- Manage successful relationship with the employee and employers works councils
- Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource policies
- Promote effective communications and employee relations
- Act as a Leadership Team role model
- Model and promote the Corporation’s Code of Business Ethics and Values
Qualifications
WHAT WE WILL BE LOOKING FOR IN YOU:
- Prior experience in a HR role within a large, matrix organization
- Prior experience in an acquisition integration and at a minimum, project management experience
