The Role

We in the FFIO (Fidelity Fund and Investment Operations) Technology team/organization, handle applications that provide accounting and investment management support to Fidelity businesses. One of the newly formed products for Alternate Investment within the FFIO business unit requires a full stack engineering leader to develop new capabilities or enhance existing capabilities. Associate will be accountable for delivering quality technology solutions by collaborating with architects, technologists, and business partners. You will be playing a key technical leadership role in efficiently resolving technical issues and deliver new products that Fidelity wants to deliver through its Alternate Investment portfolio. Your work will help launching new alt product timely and with require accuracy in business processing.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • 15 + years hands on experience as a full stack software engineer with experience in Java API, Web and Cloud technology role

  • Deep expertise in programming languages and frameworks such as Java, Angular, and Spring.

  • Skilled in all aspects of software development lifecycle

  • Expertise in designing, building, and supporting high transaction applications

  • Experience in building responsive front end applications using typescript, angular, or node 

  • Deep experience enabling scalability, availability, intelligent monitoring, and performance

  • Excellent leadership, communication, collaboration, and influencing skills

  • Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and develop technology associates

  • Robust critical thinking and problem-solving skills

  • Own all technical aspects of software engineering for assigned applications.

  • Provide hands on expertise with architecture, technical design and performance tuning on development tasks in ongoing sprints.

  • Develop deep understanding of the tie-ins with other systems and platforms within the supported domains.

  • Work closely with product owners on blueprints and annual planning on feature sets that impact multiple platforms and products.

  • Mentor Engineers on Agile team and implement high-quality software components.

  • Identify opportunities to adopt innovative technologies.

Technical / Behavioral

  • Driving technology architecture, strategies & product roadmaps for large, complex systems.

  • Strong knowledge of cloud-based technologies specifically the AWS platform.

  • Hands on experience on API Design & Development and Microservices Architecture.

  • Strong programming skills with digital mindset, and fluent across technology components including API Services development and consumption using modern frameworks and open-source technologies.

  • Delivery focus with the ability to take full ownership.

  • Experience working with distributed teams in different time-zones

  • Java/J2EE Object Oriented design and development skills.

  • Core Java, Servlets/JSP, Spring. Java Script, jQuery

  • Ability to participate in working sessions that result in clear requirements and technical design, even when working with non-technical members of SCRUM teams.

  • Proven experience with Continuous Integration concepts and DevOps best-practices & tools (Maven, Jenkins, GitHub, Jira, etc.)

  • Multithreading basics and Java design patterns is a plus.

  • Quick learner and willing to adapt and learn new technologies.

  • Great attitude, team player and effective contributor

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer science or any other discipline

  • Financial services experience strongly preferred.
