Lab Purchasing & Shipping  Coord - Part Time - Charlotte, NC

The Part-Time Lab Purchasing & Shipping Coordinator will manage a range of activities for the Charlotte site including hazardous material packaging & shipping, as well as purchasing and receiving.  The position reports to the R&D Site Manager.

 

Responsibilities:

 

• Manages site shipping functions which includes hazardous material and other site shipping.
• Ensures the safe shipment of hazardous materials by following DOT and IATA regulations. Ensures site compliance of packaging material to meet UN packaging specifications. Classifies material, selects packaging, packages, labels, and completes shipping paperwork for Hazardous materials.
• Prepares Shippers Declaration of Dangerous Goods paperwork or Bill of Lading and certifies shipments. 
• Maintains records for DOT and FAA inspections.
• Keeps training current with latest DOT and IATA regulations.
• Oversees alternate shippers in the lab on DOT and IATA regulations.
• Maintains inventory and purchases site supplies, shipping supplies/labels, safety supplies, lab equipment, janitorial supplies, etc. 
• Process purchase orders for payment.    

 

Education & Experience:

• HS Diploma or Equivalent 
• 4+ years related experience in Shipping (HazMat) 

 

Part-Time, Monday through Friday
