About the Role

The Vice President of Performance Excellence is responsible for establishing and driving enterprise-wide strategies that enhance operational governance, strategic planning, performance measurement, and workforce effectiveness. This role will develop and maintain governance frameworks, oversee enterprise project and implementation management, and lead process optimization efforts to ensure scalability and efficiency. Additionally, the VP will partner with leadership teams to establish key performance indicators, refine staffing models, and enhance clinical workforce quality and training. With a focus on strategic execution, cross-functional collaboration, and data-driven decision-making, this role plays a critical part in ensuring operational excellence and sustainable growth across the organization.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Governance & Strategy: Define and maintain an effective governance framework for the Operations organization, ensuring clarity in decision-making, goal setting, accountability, and execution.
  • Performance Measurement & Insights: Partner with Operations leadership and Analytics teams to define, track, and aggregate key performance indicators (KPIs) that drive operational and strategic decision-making.
  • Enterprise Planning: Lead the development and implementation of an enterprise-wide planning function that aligns business objectives, optimizes resource allocation, and enhances operational effectiveness.
  • Enterprise Project & Implementation Management: Establish Project Management as an enterprise function to support the execution of strategic initiatives and large-scale implementations. Ensure repeatable, structured frameworks for executing multiple implementations efficiently and effectively.
  • Operations Process Optimization: Identify opportunities for process improvements across operations, implementing best practices to drive efficiency, scalability, and effectiveness.
  • Clinical Workforce Quality & Training: Develop and oversee strategies for clinical workforce training, competency management, and quality assurance to enhance service delivery and patient outcomes.
  • Staffing Model Development: Collaborate with FP&A and Operations leadership to design, refine, and maintain dynamic staffing models that optimize workforce efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Healthcare Administration, or a related field; an advanced degree (MBA, MHA, or equivalent) is preferred. 10+ years of leadership experience in operations, strategy, performance management, or enterprise project execution.
  • Leadership & Execution: Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, drive organizational change, and execute enterprise-wide initiatives.
  • Operational Excellence: Strong background in optimizing business processes, improving efficiency, and aligning operations with strategic objectives.
  • Data-Driven Decision-Making: Experience leveraging performance metrics, analytics, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to inform strategy and measure success.
  • Preferred Experience: Familiarity with governance frameworks, enterprise planning, project management methodologies, clinical workforce training, and staffing model development is a plus.
