Primary Purpose:  

The Senior Footwear Technician is responsible for supporting the operational strategy of all Tapestry Footwear products, alongside the Sr. Director, from proto-sample development through finished goods production and delivery. 

  

The Senior Footwear Technician assist the product development and commercialization process working in close collaboration with Sr. Director and internal and external cross functional partners from Design to Merchandising, Asia Teams, Materials, Quality, and Factory/Service provider partners to deliver the collection. 

 

Hybrid Role – in office 3x per week (Tuesday – Thursday)

  

The successful individual will leverage their proficiency in Technical Footwear to...

  

  • Maintain a constant flow of communication between NY PD, cross functional partners from Design to Merchandising, Asia PD and Factory/Service provider partners.  

  • Oversee and communicate development and fit specifications from initial concept to final product.  

  • Support and manage reviewing prototypes and final samples, taking comments in preparation for development meeting and foresee solutions/suggestions for any quality issues to minimize production disruptions. 

  • Knowledge and practice of sample fit analysis and upper line/paper pattern corrections to address design and production needs. 

  • Knowledge of shoe last dimensions and size gradings systems 

  • Knowledge of blueprint reading and interpretation on soles, heels, and ornaments. 

  • Comprehend Product Development Timeline (PDT) calendar and milestone dates. 

  • Follow up samples shipping and tracking. 

  • Manage wear test program charts and samples distribution. 

  • Create forms/charts and organize comments files in share drive Teams  

  • Assist with sample comments and forms before communicating over to PD/commercialization in Asia.
