Physical Security Specialist III
General Description: This role will be focused on HRL’s physical security systems. The candidate will champion changes to improve how the security systems are designed, integrated, managed and maintained. This includes interfacing with security vendors directly, working with the stakeholders, and managing these systems at a high level. Additionally, this role will have a focus on UL2050 compliance. The candidate will need to take ownership of system escalations and decision making at a high level as it pertains to the security system. The candidate will need to possess strong technical knowledge as well as project management skills to be successful in this role.
Essential Duties:Support physical security systems throughout Multiple CampusesAnalyze physical security system performance and recommend improvementsResolve complex system issues for physical security systems and networksProgramming and integrating CCTV , Access Control Systems, Public Announcement, Intercom, IDS and others as requiredUsing advanced knowledge of networking principals and system administration skills to troubleshoot systemsTrain system users and other system support personnelAnalyze and modify preventive maintenance checklists for system changesTroubleshoot system performance issues and implement corrective actionsPerform preventive maintenance actions including system back-ups, error log reviews, database size and integrity checksOrganize and prepare detailed documentation of system performance, including service request records and analysisProvide onsite system support post deploymentProvide advanced level database support
DevelopmentConduct in depth research and evaluate the research of Technical Specialists in order to evaluate existing and future systemsRead and interpret engineering drawingsEnsure test lab equipment is maintainedInterface with engineering team to ensure design efficiencyConduct research and development of entire systems and analyze all interoperability and constructability scenarios Conduct research and development on new system manufacturers (i.e. access control, intrusion detection and closed circuit television systems).
Project ManagementCommunicate with stakeholders, manufacturers, vendorsCreation of SOP and SOW documentationRead blue prints, schematics and statements of work (SOW)Coordinate with field personnel and/or engineering team to discuss any potential installation issuesAnswer support calls to help field personnel and system administrators with any installation issues encountered on the job siteFollow standard project management processesCreation of project plans to include gant charts
High Security SystemsDesign, Installation Support, Programming, and Maintenance of security systems to adhere to compliance requirements listed in UL2050, ICD705, and NISPOMOwnership of all UL systems to include semi-annual UL inspections and documentationOther duties as required
Required Skills: Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, Visio, project)Strong interpersonal skills to successfully interact and collaborate with internal/external customers across organizational levelsProficient at writing Statement of WorksAbility to perform under pressure in a dynamic environmentAbility to communicate and collaborate effectively through written and verbal means
Required Education:5-10 years of experience with installation, troubleshooting and/or testing of electronic security systems with a high school diploma or GED3-5 Years experiencing managing multiple physical security software/hardware products such as, Avigilon, Genetec, C-Cure 9000, Pro-Watch, RS2, Lenel3-5 years experience with leading projects using industry known project managementDesire certifications in CCURE 9000, Avigilon Video, Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Server 2008Desire experience in configuration and management of UNIX and Windows operating systems
Physical Requirements:Ability to sit and use computer equipment for extended periods of time during research and analysis tasksAbility to lift and/or carry 30 poundsUse ladders, scissor and articulating lifts
Special Requirements:U.S. Citizenship requiredMust have a current Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI clearance with polygraph. Current active Top Secret clearance/SCI with polygraph is desired.
Compensation:The base salary range for this full-time position $76,530 - $93,320 + bonus + benefits.Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position.
