Position Summary
The Executive Director of Technology for Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) oversees the development and operation of systems and processes for PBM products within CVS Health. This leader collaborates closely with business stakeholders, vendors, and external partners to ensure that technology solutions align with the organization’s strategic goals and objectives.
The Finance Organization is currently undergoing a significant technology-driven transformation, which includes a multi-year roadmap that will impact the entire technology stack developed over the years to support the PBM business. This transformation aims to enhance operational efficiency, improve data management, and better serve our clients in the evolving healthcare landscape.
Major Responsibilities
Provide vision, direction, and guidance to the technology organization for the Finance Org, and aligning the IT resources, capabilities, and processes with the business needs and expectations.
Collaborate across technology and business to lead the product transformation.
Manage the delivery of the IT initiatives, ensuring the quality, design, timeliness, and budget adherence, and meeting the key OKRs and KPIs.
Manage the IT budget, resources, and vendors delivering the IT projects and services in alignment with OKRs
Collaborate with the Value Pool leader and product stakeholders to understand their needs and expectations. Provide strategic guidance and support for the IT solutions.
Establish and maintain effective communication and collaboration with the business stakeholders, vendors, and external partners, meeting the business requirements and expectations, and resolving any issues or escalations.
Ensure the compliance of the systems and applications with the company policies, standards, and regulations, and identify, assess, and mitigate risks and controls.
Drive the innovation and continuous improvement solutions, leveraging best practices, industry trends, and emerging technologies.
Develop and mentor the team fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, agility, and innovation, and enhancing their skills and competencies.
Supporting CVS Health in attracting, retaining, and engaging a diverse and inclusive consumer-centric workforce that delivers on our purpose and reflects the communities in which we work, live, and serve.
Required Qualifications
15+ Years of leadership experience in matrixed organization spanning technical, leadership and application development
10+ years of leading fullstack engineering teams or similar experience
10 + years of defining and leading the execution of the long-term technology strategy management and delivery
10 + years of managing a large and diverse team to deliver business value through technology and world class support
5 + years of Fiscal Management of capital and operating expense budgets
10+ years of partnering across the organization and lead enterprise initiatives.
Travel 15%
Preferred Qualifications
Strong knowledge and experience in IT vendor management, and IT service management methodologies and frameworks.
Demonstrated leadership through transformation initiatives
Proven experience in a product led transformation and mature operations.
Strong people leadership capabilities with a strong ability to build a high performing team through formal training, diverse assignments, coaching, mentoring, and other techniques.
Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate at all levels.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
Ability to work Hybrid Model (in office Tuesday / Wednesday / Thursday)
