Essential Responsibilities:
• Maintains the organization’s accounting principles, practices, and procedures. • Manage the accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial closing activities and reporting.
• Manage day-to-day operations of accounting including accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and general ledger.
• Safeguard company assets and ensure internal controls are adequate and operating as intended. Support any audit inquires (internal/external). Assists in all areas of financial and operational compliance.
• Assists, recommends, and helps implement strategic changes in financial strategy to ensure achievement of organizational objectives.
• Responsible for the supervision of department employees to include the overall direction, mentoring and training; establishing goals and objectives for each year and monitor and advise on the progress to enhance the professional development of staff.
• Responsible for managing the team to ensure that work is properly allocated and completed in a timely and accurate manner.
• Reviews and verifies the accuracy of all source data related to the financial statements of the Company.
• Transmits monthly financial data into Dover reporting systems.
• Prepares monthly financial statements for the Company.
• Prepares monthly balance sheet account analysis and reconciliations in Dover’s reporting system.
• Preparation and oversight of Sales Tax, Property Tax, and Income Tax packages to ensure accurate and timely filings.
• Serve as backup for cost accounting duties.
• Assist Finance Director with quarterly and yearly Corporate requests.
• Support Finance Director with special projects and workflow process improvements.
• Support Finance Director with internal/external audit procedures and requests.
• Collaborate with other department managers to support overall department goals and objectives.
• This position is also responsible for, with authority to follow ISO procedures, initiate action to prevent problems, document quality problems, contribute to problem solutions, verify implementation of solutions, control further processing when a problem is identified, protect the environment, including preventing pollution, analyzing or identifying areas for correction or improvement.
Qualifications/Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with 5 to 10 years successful financial experience; 3 year successful supervisory / managerial experience; or equivalent successful combination of education and experience. Preferred: Professional Accounting Designation & 5 to 10 years of related experience • Must be able to travel as required and /or directed.
