About the Pricing Operations Team

Pricing Operations is responsible for creating, maintaining, and improving global pricing processes throughout the company.

#LifeAtProofpoint as a Pricing Analyst

This role is a great fit for a self-starter who enjoys driving business impact and operational efficiency, can serve as an internal consultant (e.g., problem solver) and owner, and will have the opportunity for significant exposure and visibility across the business.

The Pricing Analyst will partner and collaborate with sales, legal, PMM, customer support, provisioning and finance to ensure a clean quote-to-cash process. This individual will own SKU creation, maintenance, and rollout to evolve our global pricing strategy to maximize revenue and facilitate competitive market pricing and product offerings.

Your day-to-day

  • Work with business partners, such as Product Managers, Product Marketing Managers, and Finance, to influence and optimize product strategy for our Sellers
  • Collaborate with revenue accounting, deal desk, order management, sales operations, legal counsel, among others to improve process efficiencies and effectiveness
  • Primary Pricing Operations business partner across PMM, BMS, Buying Programs, ABP, BU Finance, Revenue Assurance, Legal, and Product Delivery
  • Develop and refine pricing strategies for our SaaS offerings, ensuring alignment with market trends, competitive positioning, and customer value.
  • Determine optimal pricing points and structures for our products and services, considering factors such as customer segmentation, product features, and market dynamics.
  • Continuously evaluate and adjust pricing models to maximize revenue and profitability, taking into account changing market conditions and customer feedback.
  • Prepare and present pricing reports, recommendations, and insights to senior management, helping them make informed decisions.
  • Develop project plans to execute business decisions, incorporating important milestones, and ensure progress towards achieving project objectives and deadlines.
  • Lead projects cross-functionally and optimally communicate to all upstream/downstream partners to ensure understanding of strategy, project plan, and impacts
  • Manage SKUs and pricing to support launches and programs
  • Ensure compliance with pricing policies, legal requirements, and industry standards.
  • Coordinate and support operational aspects of the DME product lifecycle
  • Identify and resolve pricing discrepancies and inconsistencies.
  • Evaluate and improve current processes & procedures while working with cross functional teams

What you bring to the team

  • 6 + years in pricing, business operations, sales operations, or business analytics in enterprise software
  • Experience working with Salesforce
  • Experience with Excel for data modeling
  • Proficient with SQL.
  • PowerBI, R and Python is a plus
  • Experience working with cross functional teams such as Accounting, FP&A, Revenue Accounting, Deals Desk, Renewals, Channel, Order Management, Product Marketing, Product Management,, Sales Operations to support pricing and strategy
  • Quantitative experience with both SaaS and on-prem pricing models, as well as channel pricing programs and quarterly promotions is a plus
  • Database management is a plus
  • Effective communication skills with all levels of employees
  • PMO experience nice to have but not required
