Hendrickson is a supplier of truck suspension systems and components as well as an aftermarket supplier for various truck components to the heavy-duty vehicle market. Hendrickson has a fantastic opportunity for an Engineering Technician in our facility just North of Fort Wayne, IN located in Kendallville, Indiana.
Position Purpose:
Provide an expert level of support for our daily production operations on assigned shift. The primary focus will be to support the production area achieving daily goals by providing technical insight on processes along with maintaining perishable tooling. Flexibility to support other initiatives will be required as needed. The persons in this position will lead our initiative to Identify potential continuous improvement projects and then collect supporting data to justify and implement these improvements. They may be required to provide training to new technicians coming into the department.
Essential Functions:
- Provide technical support on current processes related to CNC, assembly, and rubber injection molding equipment on 2nd shift.
- Maintain perishable tooling, prepare back-up tooling – troubleshoot tooling issues
- Lead tool performance studies and cost reduction actions.
- Develops tooling and prototypes with minimal supervision.
- Assist with the identification for 5s needs and implementation of changes.
- Assist in the training of new operators
- Provide CAD support to Engineering and Manufacturing
- Cellular Layout designs
- Local traveling for tooling fixturing, prototypes, etc.
Education and Training
- High School Diploma required
- 3 years’ experience
- Associate degree with 3 years’ experience preferred.
Minimum Qualifications
- Proficient at problem resolution using a structured approach.
- Proficient using both verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong math skills required. Proficient in trigonometry and algebra.
- Proficient in Excel, Word, CAD.
- Proficient with Okuma, Fanuc, and REP controls.
- Proficient at blueprint reading and layout troubleshooting.
- Workstation layout skills required.
- Proficient in development of work instructions for operator use.
- Exposure to IATF required.
- Automotive background preferred.
- Preventative maintenance and TPM background preferred.
