Job Summary: The Supervisor-Patient Care Trans assists the Executive Director in providing clinical, administrative, financial, and human resource management and supervision for the heart transplant program. Provides direct patient care and management presence during and after business hours. Serves as a role model and provides positive influence to facilitate change. Participates in organ procurement and on call rotation. Performs other duties as needed.

Education and Experience: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing required. Minimum five years nursing experience in transplant within an acute care hospital or organ procurement organization required. One year of prior management or supervisory experience preferred.

Knowledge and Skills: Extensive knowledge of federal and state transplant regulations. Basic knowledge of healthcare law, medical staff structure, finance, performance improvement methodologies, and statistical principles required. Demonstrate competencies in clinical nursing, leadership, and management. Must have well developed oral and written communication skills. Must be able to speak English and relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; team build; provide leadership; supervise; train and develop people in the realm of patient safety, quality and performance improvement; be assertive and consistent in following and/or enforcing policies; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; teach and mentor; collaborate; analyze and interpret data and process flow; collaboratively and objectively problem solve accompanied by problem resolution skills; organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously; accept direction; think critically; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail; work independently; perform basic math and statistical functions; use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position, e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, electronic medical record, electronic event reporting program; prioritize time-sensitive resolution of time-sensitive issues and workload; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone; identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the work place; see adequately to read computer screens, medical records, and written documents necessary to position; exhibit professional dress and behavior at all times.

Licensures and Certifications: Active California Registered Nurse (RN) license required. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) required. Certified Clinical Transplant Coordinator (CCTC) or Certified Procurement Transplant Coordinator (CPTC) preferred.
