- As part of the Safety organization, the Senior Manager of Regulatory Compliance and Internal Evaluations will be responsible for creating collaborative and strategic partnerships with organizational leaders to identify operational compliance risks and drive innovative solutions that align with the Company’s Safety objectives. This role will also actively promote and enhance American’s compliance culture within all levels of the company by supporting and participating in the Safety Management System (SMS).
- The right person for this role must be able to work in a high-pressure environment with tight deadlines for real-time issue management.
What you'll do

- Develop and execute strategies and continuous improvement opportunities that support effective enterprise-wide compliance management
- Establishes and directs policy, procedures and processes for Regulatory Compliance, the Internal Evaluation Program (IEP), and the Codeshare Safety Program (CSP)
- Directs the IEP and Codeshare surveillance program, including the management and development of policy, procedures, and processes as well as the collection, analysis, measurement and distribution of safety, security, and compliance performance data
- Leverages knowledge of industry best practices, industry standards, data models, and regulatory compliance to understand and evaluate potential areas of risk and to define team operating standards and procedures
- Regularly briefs regulatory compliance and IEP metrics to senior leadership, including recommendations to address areas of escalated compliance risk
- Acts as the liaison for various local, state, federal and international government entities
- Manages and participates in special projects with limited oversight, as required
All you'll need for success
Minimum Qualifications – Education & Prior Job Experience
- Undergraduate degree in related technical field, or other equivalent experience/training
- 7 years of related work experience
- 2 years of related work experience in a leadership role
- Familiarity with the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) including, but not limited to 14 CFR Part 91, Part 121, Part 145, etc.
- Experience working with contract labor groups required
Preferred Qualifications – Education & Prior Job Experience
- MBA or other advanced degree in related field
- Experience building, developing, and effectively leading a dynamic team of professionals in a rapidly scaling business environment
- Ability to guide internal and external partners, connect workgroups and teams to ensure strategies and impacts are clearly understood
