As an RN III at Sonoma State University (SSU), you’ll play a key role in advancing nursing practice at the Student Health Center (SHC), from guiding triage and complex care decisions to supporting quality improvement initiatives. If you are seeking a fulfilling career with outstanding benefits and the opportunity to grow as both a clinician and valued team member, we encourage you to apply.

We are primarily funded by student fees, do not accept insurance, and are able to offer our students low or no-cost services. We largely treat acute illness and minor injury, perform age- and lifestyle-appropriate screening, and have the time and capacity to provide both individualized and population-based focus on health education and preventive care. We also provide reproductive health care including medication abortion. Join us and be a part of something extraordinary!
The Role

Most of your time will be spent delivering direct, evidence-based patient care and exercising advanced clinical judgment in both routine and urgent situations. Beyond clinical care, you’ll play a key role in leading quality improvement initiatives, shaping nursing protocols, case management and contributing to the education development and outreach efforts that promote student wellness and prevention. In this role, you’ll ensure that care is patient-centered, evidence-based, safe, and efficient, while helping to set the standard for nursing excellence at the SHC. Your expertise will make a lasting impact on the health, well-being, and success of SSU students.
