Job Description
The individual is responsible for the repairs and preventive maintenance for all facilities at the resort. The role of this position and that of the Engineering department is to provide a safe and healthy environment for our colleagues and our guests to enjoy.
What you will be doing:
- Skill in the use of hand and electrical tools with familiarity of parts and materials for maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment, kitchen equipment, HVAC, plumbing, finishes, masonry, and FF&E.
- Performs rounds on critical systems and can identify/trouble shoot system deficiencies.
- Performs preventive maintenance on product and all major equipment.
- Maintain, clean and organize a properly stocked storeroom by keeping an inventory of supplies, parts and equipment manuals to quickly complete repairs
- Obtains price quotations and fills out requisitions for parts and supplies.
- Perform drain rodding tasks as needed.
- Apply necessary precautions with regards to the hotel safety and hygiene standards (HACCP)
- Be well versed in hotel fire & life safety/emergency procedures
- Maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene at all times
- Perform other reasonable duties assigned by the Management of the Hotel
Qualifications
Your experience and skills include:
- Service oriented with an eye for details
- Ability to work effectively and contribute in a team
- Self-motivated and energetic
- Maintain a clean and neat appearance at all times
- Must have a good working knowledge of basic electrical systems including 120v building power related tools for this include the use of multi-meters and amp probes.
- Good working knowledge of basic plumbing and piping systems including copper pipe fitting, PVC pipe fitting.
- Must have a general working knowledge of basic HVAC systems such as fan coils, air handling units, exhaust fans and make up air units.
- Maintenance of systems will include filter changes, lubricating bearings, cleaning cooling coils, cleaning drain pans and checking / changing drive belts.
- Must be knowledgeable of OSHA work place safety standards such as PPE, Lock Out Tag Out, Ladder Safety, HAZCOM and similar.
- Visual ability to read manufacturer's instructions, schematics and blueprints.
- Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require patience, tact and diplomacy to defuse anger, collect accurate information and solve customer concerns.
