Job Overview

Jensen Hughes have a rare and exciting opportunity for a talented Senior Engineer to join our market leading Milan team and help us drive excellence across our projects and deliver world class fire and life safety solutions to our client base in 2026!

The successful candidate will be involved with new build projects and building refurbishment in the industrial sector, with a focus on active and passive fire protection systems and loss prevention consultancy. The work will include design, construction and commissioning. Some travel will be an essential part of this role – currently within Italy with the possibility of overseas travel in the future.

Responsibilities

  • In this role you will both manage the project and lead the project technically, managing all aspects related to fire risk and loss prevention.
  • Manage external client and stakeholders, as well as internal staff to complete work on-time and within budget, including interfacing with teams working on other programs/projects in the location.
  • Coordinate design and construction activities with the clients, consultants, contractors and stakeholders.
  • Oversee interdisciplinary teams and provide review and guidance to project team during development of project deliverables.
  • Taking control of current and future projects and ensuring that financial targets of the team are met and exceeded, develop existing relationships with key clients and deliver fire safety engineering solutions.
  • Drive behind the delivery of technical excellence, team engagement, and the go-to in developing their key clients in this discipline.
  • Be the expert to our clients and become the all-important first point of call. Lead discussion with design team, building control and fire service.
  • Attend industry conferences to network and embrace industry trends and best practices.
  • Supervise and train graduate engineers.
  • Application of national and international legislation and standards on Fire and Life Safety in the various areas of corporate interest
  • Project Review, Codes Consultancy.
  • Field inspections and testing (Europe).
  • Advice and promotion of fire safety science.
  • Application of risk analysis models.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • A background in fire engineering preferably within a consultancy environment, with a specific focus on fire protection systems design or in Loss Prevention.
