Banquet - Server

Description

JOB TITLE: Banquet Server 

JOB SUMMARY:  Responsible for setting up, working and breaking down functions outside of the dining room.

REPORTS TO: The Banquet manager and the supervisor in charge of running the function.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS: Setting up tables, serving the guest and cleaning up after the function.

Requirements

MUST HAVE: *A valid PA driver’s license is a requirement to drive any vehicle even a golf cart.

SKILLS REQUIRED: Must have the ability to work well with others and possess strong people skills. 

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:  None required.

PRIOR EXPERIENCE: Serving experience is helpful, but not required. 

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS: Knowledge on types of food and proper service is helpful. 

PERSONALITY REQUIREMENTS:  Must have the ability to work as a member of a team.

RESPONSIBLE FOR:  Attending to the guests’ needs and making sure function is set up to Skytop standards. 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to carry a service tray weighing from one (1) to fifty (50) lbs. for long distances. Job requires being able to stand on your feet for long periods of time. 

WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Work takes place inside and outside, sometimes in hot weather, and in a fast-paced kitchen. 

HAZARDS ENCOUNTERED: Spills on floors, broken glass and dishes, hot dishes and beverages, other workers and normal kitchen hazards i.e. hot stoves, cutting utensils, etc.
