Your impact

Handshake is hiring a Senior Office & Culture Manager reporting to the Head of People Programs, on the People Team. In this role you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our San Francisco HQ, ensuring a safe and productive work environment, managing company events and programs, providing exceptional employee experience, all while working effectively with internal stakeholders and managing vendors.

As you ramp into this role, you will be expected to take on the role as a team lead, driving new projects and developing your leadership skills as the team scales its impact and scope of work. You will be expected to cover management of the Office & Culture team and owning and driving all Office operations for all of our locations on an interim basis during the Head of People Programs upcoming maternity leave.

Your role

  • Employee and Visitor Experience:
      • Ensure a welcoming environment for visitors and clients, setting a high standard for employee and visitor experience in the office.
      • Handle employee inquiries as they come in and proactively anticipate needs and provide solutions in a timely and professional manner.
    Event and Program Management:
      • Plan and coordinate company events end-to-end, from small meetings to large corporate gatherings, ensuring successful rollout of logistical and tactical operations.
      • Own and manage logistics, including but not limited to venue selection, vendor negotiation, and event budgeting.
      • Take initiative in overseeing the execution of company-wide programs and initiatives.
    Office Safety & Management:
      • Develop and implement office policies to ensure a safe, secure and culturally aligned work environment.
      • Oversee facility management, including space planning, maintenance, and office improvements.
      • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
      • Own all communications to SF office employees on SF-based office events, changes, and operations.
    Vendor Management:
      • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with vendors and service providers.
      • Negotiate contracts and manage vendor performance to ensure quality and cost-efficiency.
    Collaboration with Internal Stakeholders:
      • Able to partner closely with various departments as subject matter expert and advisor for in-office needs.
      • Leads all office-related projects and initiatives, including but not limited to training and coaching junior team members and collaborating with cross-functional teams on office solutions and support.

Your experience

  • Minimum of 3 years experience managing an office of 200+ employees
  • Demonstrated track record in effective facility management, event planning, and vendor relations
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to work independently with minimal direction from leadership
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities simultaneously and proactively manage projects to completion
  • Thorough understanding of OSHA requirements to uphold office safety and employee health

Compensation range

  • $137,000 - $160,000

For cash compensation, we set standard ranges for all U.S.-based roles based on function, level, and geographic location, benchmarked against similar stage growth companies. In order to be compliant with local legislation, as well as to provide greater transparency to candidates, we share salary ranges on all job postings regardless of desired hiring location. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including geographic location as well as candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed above.
