Material Handler / General Labor - 2nd Shift

Description

Northern Manufacturing, a worldwide leader in stainless steel fabrication, is seeking a motivated and hard working individual to join our team. Second shift hours are Monday through Friday, 3:30pm to 1:00am (45-hour workweeks).

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift and other equipment to move large parts and material around the shop.
• Perform general labor duties as assigned. This may include, but is not limited to, breaking out and cleaning parts, mechanical assembly of parts, building or repairing skids and pallets, etc.
• Communicate effectively with supervisor and coworkers to ensure a clear understanding of priority.
• Demonstrate a level of urgency in work, understanding that project timelines are impacted when materials are delayed.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas and storage yards.
• Abide by established safety policies and procedures.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. when required. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, stoop, lift, climb, balance, and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior forklift experience required.
• Previous manufacturing/fabrication facility experience preferred.
• Basic math and measurement comprehension, and tape measure experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently or within a collaborative environment.
• Strong team member, supporting coworkers within all departments.
