Responsible for administering and managing employee leave programs in compliance with federal, state and local regulations, as well as internal policies. Serves as resource for colleagues and leaders regarding all leave-related matters including FMLA, ADA, VESSA, Workers’ Compensation, personal leaves, military leaves and disability programs.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, or related discipline (or the equivalent experience in Human Resources, Leave Administration or Compliance).
Licensure/Certification/Registry:
- Professional certification a plus (Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS), Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM)).
Experience:
- Four (4) years of experience in Human Resources, Benefits or Absence Management is required. Previous experience in a health care setting is preferred.
Other Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent analytical skills, written and oral communication skills, problem solving skills, interpretation skills, interpersonal skills, planning and organization skills and reasoning ability.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point). Lawson experience a plus.
- Thorough understanding of FMLA, ADAAA, COBRA, HIPAA laws.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of healthcare workers from varying cultural, ethnic, racial and socioeconomic backgrounds.
- Self-directed with ability to work autonomously on several projects concurrently.
