Compensation Range:

Anticipated Base compensation rate is in the range of $46.00 - $53.67 / Hour depending on qualifications and experience.

*12 hour shifts at Huntington Health are overtime-based (not a straight time rate for all 12 hours). Therefore, employees who work a full 12-hour shift will be paid their base rate for 8 hours AND overtime (1.5) for hours up to 12.

Qualifications:

  • Graduated from an accredited Bachelor’s in Nursing or a Master of Science in Nursing
    • Associate in Nursing Degree may be considered for current Huntington Hospital employee, must be currently enrolled in a BSN program and commit to completing within 3 years from date of transfer/promotion.
  • Newly graduated Registered Nurse with a total of less than one year of nursing experience in any area by the start of the program
  • Valid California Registered Nursing License

2. Personal Statement - The personal statement must not exceed two pages (12-pt font, double spaced) and should include:

  • why you selected nursing as a profession
  • what being a nurse means to you
  • what will you bring to the profession of nursing at Huntington Hospital.

On the top portion of your personal statement, answer the following:

  • Are you currently employed at Huntington Hospital?    Yes/No
    • If yes, what unit are you currently working in and in what role?
  • What are your top three preferences for employment (1 being first preference, 2 second, 3 third) - Pick 3

Description of units

Float Pool – Float Pool RNs serve patients on all Medical, Medical-Surgical, Telemetry, Rehab, DOU (only if cross-trained) and procedural area such as Cath Lab/Interventional Radiology. Float pool staff are assigned to these areas as needed to address staffing variances. Float Pool RNs do not serve patients in Emergency Department, Behavioral Health and Critical Care Unit.

Definitive Observation Unit (DOU) - 2 West is Adult Step-down Telemetry Unit focused on caring for adult/geriatric acutely ill patients that require continuous cardiac monitoring.  These patients include, but are not limited to those suspected of, or having cardiac diseases, multiple trauma, respiratory diseases, sepsis, and or other medical surgical issues who are hemodynamically stable and do not require the intensive care unit.

Neurosciences Stroke Center (Neuro) - Neuroscience Stroke Telemetry Unit, Comprehensive Stroke certified.  The Neurosciences Stroke Unit provides constant neurological and cardiac monitoring (via telemetry) for all neurological and stroke patients.  The type of patients the Neuroscience Stroke Center serves includes but is not limited to transient ischemic attack, myasthenia gravis, multiple sclerosis, Guillain-Barre syndrome, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, seizures, cranial nerve disease, meningitis, stable traumatic brain injury and stable spinal cord injury.

Cardiothoracic Unit (CTU) - 5 West is a cardiac unit that provides constant cardiac monitoring for all patients via telemetry and focuses on caring for patients with cardiac dy
