Associate Patient Services Specialist at Queen of the Valley Medical Center Hospital. This position is Part time and will work 8-hour Variable Shifts.

Performs all registration functions for patients. This includes collecting accurate demographic information, verifying insurance benefits and eligibility, obtaining authorization/pre-certification for services provided, and collecting patient liability prior to or at the time of service. Greets and serves patients in a professional, friendly, and respectful manner to promote sacred encounters. Performs duties under moderate supervision.
Required Qualifications:
- Coursework/Training: Completion of a medical terminology class, or equivalent educ/experience
- ROP, Or
- 2 years of experience that demonstrates knowledge of CPT and ICD-9 coding.
- Coursework/Training: Successful completion of the Patient Access Training modules within 90 days of obtaining position.
- 1 year of experience in a healthcare or customer service setting.
- Clerical experience in a medical setting.
