The Production Supervisor positions will work and support 2nd or 3rd shift hours of operations:

  • 2nd shift - 1:45 pm - 10:15 pm CST

  • 3rd shift - 9:45 pm - 6:15 am CST

The Production Supervisors will lead 15-20 direct reports in our Fenton, MO production facility. The production facility prints and processes documents to mail through the USPS. The facility averages 1.4MM packages per day for over 500 clients. The supervisor position is responsible for all aspects of the production floor. This position will plan and assign work, implement policies and procedures and contribute to improving production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions. This position has direct contact with service providers and technicians who troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues. 

The primary focus of the Production Supervisor will be to manage the team to maintain expected productivity on the shift and maintain a positive work environment. This role is hands on and is actively engaged with the team throughout the shift. Supervisors lead team meetings and set associates goals. The supervisor utilizes metrics to monitor associate performance and provides feedback through regular constructive conversations.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Effectively manage daily workload and completion of production jobs to meet mail pick-up times and client Service Level Agreements.

  • Ensure effective employee relations; provide employee coaching and development; contribute to employment decisions; resolve employee issues through proper training and problem resolution.

  • Balance quality, productivity, cost, safety and morale to achieve positive results in all areas. Work to continuously improve in all areas.

  • Manage departmental performance and provides Director of Operations with daily production activities to include reporting throughput, downtime, errors or issues during shift.

  • Communicate effectively with other shift supervisors and management

  • Open and track all issues in project management software in a timely manner

  • Print and organize USPS required documentation and makes adjustments to documents if needed.

  • Understand all processes related to shipping department.  This includes but not limited to making and printing labels, packaging, creating pack slips and maintaining relationships with carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, USPS, and DHL. 

  • Order shipping supplies as necessary

  • Understand the quality control process and can troubleshoot issues as necessary

  • Support training and production orientation to all New Hires.

  • Support production staff in operating production equipment when needed to include troubleshooting and escalating issues as necessary.

  • Follow all standard operating procedures and instructions relevant to the job, position and department accurately.

  • Verify through departmental spot checks that Standard Operating Procedures are accurately being administered and performed by the Production Staff.

  • Follow established HIPAA, Compliance & Security policies, department policies, procedures, work instructions and safety and environmental guidelines.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent GED 

  • Minimum 3 years supervisory experience 

  • Strong leadership and analytical skills

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in a production type environment

  • Proven track record of leading with high quality and productivity standards

  • Knowledge of USPS mail preparation not required but preferred

  • Basic computer skills

  • Mechanical aptitude 

Required Physical Factors:

  • Stand for long periods of time

  • Able to lift 50 lbs. or more

  •  Work long hours and flexible schedule when needed throughout the year

  • Peak season will require additional hours and shifts to support client Service Level Agreements.  Peaks season runs from October 15 thru January 31.
