About the Role
This role is a proactive business partner responsible for providing financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, analysis, and reporting to support effective business decision-making. The position requires responsiveness to change, proactively anticipating data, insights, and analytics to help the business make data-driven decisions. Reporting directly to the Business Unit CFO, this role works closely with the business unit management team and receives support from other functional finance teams.
Responsibilities:
Management Team Member: Serve as a key member of the business management team, providing leadership, management and financial oversight for the responsible segments.
Financial Processes: Lead all financial processes, both strategic and tactical. This includes reviewing monthly sales revenue and cost reports with insights into trends and variances, and preparing customer and product profitability analysis. Additionally, advise the business unit on strategic direction, drive value creation by providing clear recommendations for action, and develop revenue, direct cost, and labor driver assumptions and has overall responsibility for the forecasting cycles. Ensure supported segments and solutions understand the key drivers of their financial performance.
Nurturing and developing talent: The role requires managing a team based in multiple locations. As a senior member of the finance team, the individual is expected to proactively identify and develop talent, provide ongoing training and development opportunities, and foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment to ensure the growth and success of all team members.
Mergers and Acquisitions: Support the lifecycle of mergers and acquisitions, from upfront acquisition models and due diligence (with support from a pool of expertise) to post-merger integration projects.
Relations Network: Develop excellent relations and maintain regular contact with the Business Unit CFO, Senior Director/Director, Business Partners, and other support functions. Proactively liaise with commercial teams, constructively challenging assumptions during month-end and forecast processes to ensure investments deliver appropriate returns.
Continuous Improvement: Embrace a culture of continuous improvement, seeking simplification, automation, and uniformity.
Internal Control: Provide strong stewardship and governance of the business unit. Review and implement management reporting and analytics to deliver timely, forward-looking, actionable data that supports effective decision-making. Improve or remove outdated data, metrics, reports, and processes.
Timely Delivery: Own and ensure the timely delivery of required information. Provide quality commentary, including insights into results and action plans to capitalize on opportunities or mitigate risks.
Requirements:
Have 10+ years of experience in a financial role, with a deep understanding of P&L metrics and drivers in a global organization.
Have a Financial Degree or Diploma, MBA, or advanced business degree.
Have excellent knowledge of financial and management accounting, processes, and systems.
Be a team player with the ability to manage through influence and multiple relationships.
Be proficienct in Microsoft Excel, Oracle Fusion, Dodeca, and Peoplesoft.
Have the ability to operate in a specialist area and use knowledge to deliver results.
Have a good understanding of accounting principles and concepts.
Be able to communicate daily with non-finance professionals and handle potentially emotive topics.
