Who we are

HII-Mission Technologies has an immediate need for a Technical Editor and Writer to join the team! This employee will be responsible for editing compliant and compelling proposal responses in response to commercial and U.S. government solicitation requirements. This position will be based out of our Fairfax, VA location.

 

This position is within the Corporate Growth Office (CGO) which supports HII's largest, most strategic bids across the enterprise. As such, this is an exciting role for those that want to make an immediate impact and be recognized for their contributions to our organization. This role is to support competitive proposal bids working directly with Capture Managers, Technical Solution Architects, Proposal Managers, and Volume Leads to develop work products to create technical and management solutions. Candidate will be responsible for leading and providing proposal expertise to all business Groups. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and development of staffing rationale for proposals. 
• Apply interviewing skills to gather information from internal/external personnel to support writing activities.
• Write clear, persuasive, and compliant proposal sections; translates complex ideas into easily understandable text.
• Develop and implement process improvements to help improve proposal quality.
   

What you need to have:

• 3 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 1-year relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 7 years relevant experience.
• Demonstrated success writing and leading technical, management, staffing, and transition volumes for complex efforts.
• Excellent writing, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• The position is onsite in our Fairfax, VA office.
   

Bonus point for:

• 3+ years of experience working as a proposal writer responding to Federal Government solicitations.
• 1+ years’ experience supporting FEDSIM proposals.
• Ability to coach and instruct others to facilitate consistency across multiple authors.
