Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking an Principal Systems Engineer / Sr Principal Systems Engineer. This position is located in Roy, UT or Huntsville, AL and supports the Sentinel program.
This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
What You’ll Get To Do:
- Oversees and manages the technical aspects of prime contract requirement flow down to the supplier management team
- Reviews status of traceability and allocation of requirements; manages schedules and prepares status reports
- Assesses project and technical issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives
- Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, program managers, and data analysts
Specific duties to include, but are not limited to the following:
- Overseeing and managing the operational aspects of new and ongoing projects to support program technical and non-technical requirements
- Work side by side with Supplier Management Teams (SMT) to support the development of Statement of Work (SOW) and Supplier Data Requirement Lists (SDRL) packages in IBM Rationale DOORS software
- Capture, track and manage prime and subcontract requirements and maintain 100% traceability of those requirements from the prime contract to the subcontract level
- Interface with stakeholders to derive master contract requirements to support subcontract Request for Proposals (RFP)
- The ability to trace a master contract requirement to subordinate documents, ensuring compliance with the issued contract and specifications
- Assessing project issues and assisting in developing resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer-satisfaction goals and objectives
- Coordinate with technical leads and specialty engineering on tailoring of statement of work contracts
- Contribute to product and process quality by helping to define and track metrics and leading indicators
- Responsible for the development of the supplier statement of work template for the program and compliance document module
- Partner with supply management to enable successful flow down and traceability to the statement of work
- Utilize DOORS for Statement of Work requirement management, allocation and traceability
Basic Qualifications:
This requisition may be filled at either the Principal Systems level (T03) or Sr Principal Systems level (T04).
Principal Systems Engineer: Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of experience with Bachelor's degree, 3 years of experience with Master's degree, 1 year with a PhD.
Sr Principal Systems Engineer: Bachelor's degree in a Scie
