About the role
Primary Duties:
- Lead the team in utilizing the 10 Key Safety Leadership Behaviors to Do Right through actions in safely producing quality parts at world class yields.
- Provide a safe and healthy working environment implementing improvement systems to eliminate any work-related injuries and ensuring all employees understand all safety requirements.
- Drive preventive actions for resolution.
- Translate the customer requirements into production specifications, control plans, and process FMEAs.
- Provide direction and development for hourly Auditor teams
- Ability to complete Internal Auditor training and complete and communicate internal audit findings.
- Lead/Support certification audits including but not limited to TS/ISO, GM BIQS and Ford Q1
- Conduct weekly quality improvement meetings.
- Drive PDCA processes with other resource groups.
- Travel to customer locations to resolve quality concerns.
- Act as customer liaison to resolve quality issues.
- Assist in ensuring the success of the first production trials.
- Lead and monitor PPM improvement efforts for new and existing parts.
- Lead corrective action tracking and activities for customer complaints and audits.
Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor’s degree (engineering preferred)
- Minimum 3-5 years related manufacturing/quality experience
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills as well as the ability to effectively interact with all levels
- Excellent communication and human relation skills.
- High energy, self-starting individual with ability to balance multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Ability to travel.
- Experience with APQP (CP, FMEA, process documentation (inc. revision control)
Qualifications Desired:
- Experience with OEM customer Quality systems (i.e. GM, Chrysler, Honda, Toyota, Nissan)
- Blackbelt/Greenbelt certification
- Program management experience
- Certified TS16949 auditor
