What are we looking for?
We are currently seeking a teammate who will interface closely with our therapist success team to address any reported security concerns from our therapists. You will be on the front line of security, detecting and investigating potential issues, digging in deep to investigate, validate issues, and escalate to other team members for remediation. The ability to think deeply on process improvements, security signal improvements, and other general security improvements will be key.
What will you do?
- Work with a nimble, passionate security team in collaboration with Therapist Success, IT,
- and DevOps.
- Develop and maintain a working knowledge of BetterHelp’s security infrastructure.
- Develop working relationships with non-security teams for collaboration.
- Investigate reported security concerns.
- Write detailed documentation of investigations.
- Be eager/willing to learn about a number of security-related topics.
- Learn and engage with Incident Response as necessary.
- Create and track JIRA issues for projects and tasks.
- You will care and be involved in our product, mission, and success - way beyond checking off tasks.

Can I work remotely?
Yes. We operate in Pacific Time and candidates in any time zone are welcome to apply. We also ask our employees to travel to our Mountain View, CA office up to six times per year to collaborate in person in order to build better working relationships and experience our in-office culture. Travel expenses will be covered and reasonable accommodations will be made for those under unique circumstances who cannot travel.
Requirements
- 2+ years of IT and/or helpdesk experience
- Experience with MacOS, cloud
- Excellent communication skills and a positive, helpful attitude
- Ability to work collaboratively in a quickly scaling environment
- Technical writing proficiency
- Ability to work in the US, to travel to our Mountain View, California offices up to six times per year and to an additional company offsite.
Bonus (Not required, but nice to have):
- Existing knowledge of security fundamentals
- Enjoy solving complex puzzles/problems
- Knowledge of database structures/queries
- Interest in learning more about scripting/coding
- Ability to convey technical concepts to an non-technical audience
- Ability to work in the US, to travel to our Mountain View, California offices up to six times per year and to an additional company offsite.
