About the role

Wherever you may look, the world is full of challenging tasks for mankind to solve. At Inrock, we specialize in those posed by Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD). We’re proud specialists in the development and sale of products and services dedicated to the HDD market, and we’re devoted to becoming the best in the business. Texas is our homeland, but the global HDD industry is our playground – this is where we supply our customers with the most hard-wearing, efficient and cost-effective drilling and guidance solutions available.

As part of Sandvik Mining and division Rock Tools, we share the overall company passion of exploring new innovative designs, materials, manufacturing methods and engineering tools. Our standalone and independent Inrock business includes manufacturing, sales, finance, HR, IT, R&D and logistics functions, and we have our eyes set on delivering breakthroughs affecting the entire industry. To further strengthen our journey ahead, we’re now looking for a visionary and inspiring President for this exciting and growing business unit of about 80 employees. A fantastic opportunity to take lead in our development and shape our future!

Your mission
Based in our recently reviewed strategy, your goal is to grow our business – you enhance our offering and develop market leading products to unlock significant value for both us and our customers. While acting independently and making quick decisions closely linked to customers, you ensure that our business is aligned with the core values of Sandvik Group and the Rock Tools division. You also create a stable foundation with the right prerequisites for us to advance.

You make sure that we conduct business in a responsible, safe and sustainable manner. You continue to develop a culture where collaboration, new perspectives, analytical creativity and results are in focus. You’re also an important member of our division management team, fully accountable for the profit and loss statement of the Inrock business unit. In all your work, you establish smart and effective ways of connecting with key stakeholders, internally within the organization as well as with external partners.

The location for this job is in the Houston area (Texas), and you report to the President of Division Rock Tools. International travel is normally included in your job.

Your profile
You’re a clear, driven and inspiring leader, with a background in general management that includes previous accountability for end-results and numbers, as well as focus on sales and market growth. You’re skilled in managing stakeholders and many various interfaces, and you understand the importance of adapting to shifts in the market. You shape the business for a successful future – listening to the needs of our customers, prioritizing areas of development and translating a strategy into concise and well communicated deployment plans.

Like us, you value diversity, equity and inclusion, and you form a feedback-friendly arena. Doing business in all corners of the world calls for an open mind and cultural awareness, and you have advanced verbal and written skills in English.

With business acumen, energy and ambition, you take lead in decisions, and you’re skilled in capturing business opportunities and identifying improvements. Your broad perspective builds trust and commitment across the organization, and you easily form a shared vision. You also confidently challenge us when you think it’s necessary. Collaboration, communication and networks are your keys to make things happen, and as an agile role model, you bring people together, inspire change and always leave a positive impact.
