About the role

Responsibilities

Peraton is currently looking for a Data Engineer with data governance experience to support Threat Hunting’s Threat Intelligence Data Strategy and CSD Operational Visibility Strategy. Threat Hunting’s unified data-centric approach to operations will modernize and transform Threat Hunting as part of the Vivid Vision effort. The basic tenants of the strategy include - secure, use, and manage threat intelligence data to improve CISA and stakeholder timely incident reporting and situational awareness.

 

Location: Arlington, VA. Some remote work possible, but must be able to come on-site as needed.

 

In this role, you will… 

  • Define and enforce data standards, naming conventions, and data classification guidelines, ensuring consistency and accuracy of data across different systems and branches.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to establish and maintain a data catalog and metadata repository.
  • Facilitate data issue resolution and escalation of unresolved issues to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Manage the availability, usability, integrity, and security of the data based on internal data standards and policies that also control data usage ensuring that data is consistent, trustworthy and doesn't get misused.
  • Work with stakeholders to evaluate, select, and implement data governance tools and technologies to support data governance processes.
  • Communicate data governance strategies, progress, and challenges to stakeholders as well as identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in computer programming / science, mathematics, or related degree and 8 years of experience; will consider 4 additional years experience in lieu of degree. 
  • Agile development team experience.
  • Experience with data automation, reporting, and case management solutions.
  • Experience in creating, implementing, and maintaining operational policies, standards and procedures related to managing data protection and governance programs.
  • Data management and data protection management practices and capabilities
  • Experience coordinating with data stewardship activities such as data profiling, data cleansing, and data quality monitoring.
  • Experience with data governance tools such as Alation.
  • U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a Top-Secret security clearance.
    • Must be able to obtain and maintain a favorably adjudicated DHS background investigation (EOD) for continued employment.

Preferred: 

  • Expertise in Alation
  • Current security clearance

Target Salary Range

$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
