Job Summary

The Sr. Payroll Tax Specialist is responsible for providing timely and accurate support of multi-state payroll tax-related activities.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Partners with internal colleagues / clients / customers to resolve case creation/closure and Service Orders
  • Case inquiries and follow up, email support and phone queue support
  • Resolves moderate complexity, high volume tasks related to workflow, as assigned
  • Communicates internally with colleagues and externally via client cases, email and telephone as primary customer support for Payroll Tax Compliance, Reporting, and W2 support
  • Works proficiently in Salesforce to document customer inquiries and resolutions
  • Processes various data related tasks withing the Payroll Tax organization such as payments, reports, check requests, registrations, and filings.
  • Escalates identified customer concerns or tax changes to leadership
  • Helps support newer Specialists as a SME

Qualifications

Education

  • General education, vocational training and/or on the-job training required

Work Experience 

  • Typically 4 or more years of Payroll tax experience required

Licenses and Certifications

  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP)-APA preferred
  • Fundamental Payroll Certificate preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate, quality work product
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proficient understanding of US payroll tax including federal, state, and local laws and regulations
  • Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality
  • High commitment to professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace
  • Ability to follow established procedures in a timely manner

The preferred location for this role is Atlanta, GA, and the salary range for this location is $52,499.20 to $89,294.40.  All qualified external applicants will be considered for an in-office role, based in Atlanta.  All qualified internal candidates are encouraged to apply and consider relocation to Atlanta and may be considered for remote hire at the company’s discretion. The candidate’s final salary offer will be based on the candidate’s skills, education, work location and experience. 

A candidate’s compensation may also include bonuses consistent with TriNet’s corporate bonus plan.
