Role Summary
The Data Architect is responsible for defining and guiding the enterprise data architecture, Microsoft Fabric platform configuration, high-impact data products, application data design, and data movement across systems. This role also leads advanced AI architecture in Microsoft Foundry, including builds, configuration, governance, and enablement for the Data and Development teams and domain-deployed engineers. The position serves as a bridge between technical implementation and business strategy, ensuring enterprise data and AI capabilities are secure, reusable, reliable, and aligned with organizational priorities. All activities will be performed in support of the strategy, vision and values of JE Dunn.

Key Role Responsibilities - Core
- Own enterprise data architecture for high-impact data products across Fabric, applications, analytics, AI, and integrations.
- Own Microsoft Foundry architecture and governance, including configuration standards, environments, model deployments, agents, evaluation, observability, cost, and production readiness.
- Design end-to-end application data flows, including system of record, direction, latency, synchronization, reconciliation, and failure handling.
- Shape application data models so operational workflows, reporting, integration, analytics, and AI requirements are addressed together.
- Establish Fabric platform standards across capacities, domains, workspaces, OneLake, lakehouses, warehouses, pipelines, notebooks, semantic models, and deployment paths.
- Define trusted-data requirements for ownership, quality, lineage, certification, metadata, security, service expectations, and change management.
- Build reusable reference architectures and implementation patterns that Data and Development teams can use without redesigning every solution.
- Enable domain-deployed engineers and citizen developers through paved roads, guardrails, templates, architecture reviews, coaching, and clear production-promotion paths.
- Embed security and responsible AI controls into every material design, including identity, authorization, privacy, auditability, evaluation, cost controls, and lifecycle management.
- Remain a hands-on builder-architect who can prototype critical patterns, challenge assumptions, and guide solutions from concept through supported production.

Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field (Required)

Experience
- 8+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, application architecture, integration architecture, AI platforms, or related enterprise technology roles.
