Job Description

Brightspeed is looking for a driven, aggressive, experienced and energetic Director, Business Continuity Management (BCM). As Director of BCM, you will report directly to the Chief of Corporate Development and will provide subject matter expertise on business continuity for Brightspeed and our strategic partnerships. You will be responsible for continually enhancing, maintaining, testing and executing the business continuity program. The program includes plans for continuation or resumption of all business processes, the network, systems and technology that supports these processes and operations. Additionally, position will include leading the incident management structure to successfully manage events which have disrupted or can potentially disrupt normal business operations. You will work closely with departmental leaders to identify and understand matters that impact the operation abilities of our customers, business partners, employees and underlying operating systems and network infrastructure.

As Director, Business Continuity Management, you will have four specific areas of responsibilities:

• Evaluate operations of every business unit in the company and related support strategic partners, identifying threats, hazards and potential impacts to critical business priorities. 
• Develop living strategies for mitigation, continuity, and recovery
• Maintain uninterrupted service whenever possible, and when needed, coordinate and execute recovery from business disruptions in a safe manner and as rapidly as possible
• Enable continuous improvement by systematically reviewing program strategy and performance using all available tools and software

As Director, Business Continuity Management, you will have the following duties:

• Evaluate the existing business continuity and disaster recovery (DR) strategies and plans for all departments and strategic partners across the corporation to identify any risks and make recommendations to improve and strengthen the strategies and plans
• Manage change and understand the cultural dynamics of the corporation, using this knowledge to ensure that the corporation's business continuity strategy and plans evolve in a practical way as the business itself changes
• Continually evaluate the impact of third-party business partner operations on our overall business resilience and continuity needs
• Maintains contact with outside contingency planning professional organizations and local/regional emergency response groups for integration and coordination
• Monitor developing emergencies potentially affecting Brightspeed’s operations and/or customers and, in coordination with appropriate departments leaders, advise management on response strategies, execution and status.
• Establish disaster recovery testing methodologies and scenarios to validate whether recovery procedures are effective for the restoration of key corporate resources, systems, and for the resumption of critical business processes
• Coordinate periodic corporate DR parallel exercises and conduct a yearly DR tabletop simulation exercise, developing and maintaining benchmark reports that track the results of these exercises
• Design and prepare periodic business continuity and disaster recovery reports and presentations for senior management
• Lead the business impact analysis process to assist all departments to determine critical business processes, identify acceptable recovery time and recovery point objectives and resource requirements for successful resumption of operations in the event of a disaster
• Collaborate with business units to identify corporate-wide emerging risks and proactively drive mitigation related to business continuity process enhancements
• Promote organizational awareness of business continuity policy, standards, plans, and processes including delivering of periodic corporate-wide training and ongoing mentoring of department leaders on best practices
