Special Missions Machine Learning Engineer

The Opportunity: 

As an experienced engineer, you know that machine learning (ML) is critical to understanding and processing massive datasets. Your ability to conduct statistical analyses on business processes using ML techniques makes you an integral part of delivering a customer-focused solution. We need your technical knowledge and desire to problem-solve to support critical defense missions. As an ML engineer on our Chief Technology Office team, you’ll train, test, deploy, and maintain models that learn from data.   

In this role, you’ll own and define the direction of mission-critical solutions by applying best-fit ML algorithms and technologies. You’ll be part of a large community of ML engineers across the firm and collaborate with data engineers, data scientists, solutions architects, and product owners to deliver world class solutions to the special operations community. Your advanced consulting skills and extensive technical expertise will guide clients as they navigate the landscape of ML algorithms, tools, and frameworks.

You Have:  

• 5+ years of experience with ML engineering, data science, research engineering, software engineering, development, or full stack engineering, including in an academic or professional environment

• Experience with object-oriented programming in Java, C++, or Python

• Experience with developing software architecture with containerization tools, including Docker or Kubernetes

• Experience in the Special Operations community

• Experience with databases, including SQL

• Knowledge of data science fundamentals and methods

• TS/SCI clearance

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering

Nice If You Have:  

• 5+ years of experience developing and deploying ML models into production within DoD enclaves

• Experience with training models in Databricks with MLflow

• Experience with software development, including API development or database management, model deployment, and usage with JavaScript frameworks, including React, Angular, or Node.js

• Experience with Extract, Transform and Load tools, data warehousing, and data pipeline development

• Experience with PostgreSQL

• Experience with pandas or geopandas

• Experience with visualization tools, including Tableau, Anaconda, or R Studio

• Knowledge of DoD and IC domain and artificial intelligence principles and practices

• Ability to deploy production application to a Cloud environment, including Google Cloud or Amazon Web Services

• Master's degree
