The Opportunity

We have an immediate opportunity for a Junior Financial Analyst in our Lake County, Abbott Park, IL location. 

As the Junior Accountant, you will provide essential support to the accounting function through the preparation, analysis, and maintenance of accurate financial records. This role is responsible for assisting with daily accounting operations, month-end close activities, account reconciliations, and the preparation of supporting schedules. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, analytical, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic, and collaborative environment. This position offers the opportunity to grow professionally while contributing to efficient and compliant financial reporting.

What You'll Work On:

  • Own end-of-the-end processes for intercompany (ICO) accounting, including preparing journal entries, cross charges, approving ICO cases, ICO payments and analyzing the ICO balances.

  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders across divisions to ensure timely and accurate ICO recordings.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all ICO accounts with affiliates.

  • Act as SME for balance confirmations among affiliates.

  • Generate reports and analysis for management review.

  • Prepare manual ICO invoices, employee payroll entries and ad hoc shared service activities.

  • Collaborate across teams to gather financial data and ensure proper coding and documentation.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and accounting regulations.

  • Prepare audit documentation and respond to internal and external audit requests.

  • Support monthly and quarterly close activities.

  • Drive process improvements and automation initiatives within the ICO team.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required. In lieu of a degree, additional years of experience may be considered.

  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills and data analysis

  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and operational accounting processes

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong attention to detail, organizational capabilities, and the ability to handle multiple tasks and work effectively in a deadline-driven environment

  • Experience with a large ERP system; SAP strongly preferred

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced, changing environment

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact across levels

  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize, multitask, and follow up effectively

  • CPA preferred, but not required

  • Proven ability to engage, influence, and collaborate with cross‑functional partners
