Are you passionate about delivering exceptional administrative support? The Comprehensive & Urgent Care Ophthalmology clinic in Westwood is seeking an enthusiastic Administrative Assistant to deliver a smooth patient experience. This position will be the first point of contact for the patient visiting the clinic. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Guide patients through check-in/out processes
- Ensure accurate registration and insurance verification
- Schedule appointments
- Respond or route patient messages
Salary Range: $26.42-37.49. Hourly

Required:
- One year of experience working in a medical office.
- Experience scheduling patient appointments in a computerized system.
- Familiarity with current billing practices including governmental plans.
- Knowledge of State and Federal programs to ensure reimbursement from Medicare, Medi-Cal, CCS programs and other sponsoring agencies.
- Excellent interpersonal skills which promote pleasant and effective communications with patients, staff and doctors.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to maintain records in a clear and orderly manner at the direction of the Office Manager.
- Sufficient knowledge of ophthalmology and its related terminology; knowledge of basic medical terminology and diseases as it applies to the eye.
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a systematic manner to maximize efficiency.
- Ability to work with frequent interruptions and complete assignments in a timely manner.
- Ability to interact calmly and effectively with patients with difficult personalities.
Preferred:
- Two years’ experience working in a medical teaching institution and/or in an ophthalmology practice setting.
