Job Description

Wish has an opening for a Senior Payroll Specialist to join our growing team at our office in San Francisco, California. The Senior Payroll Specialist will be responsible for the timely processing of U.S. and Canada payrolls for Wish. The position will perform a variety of payroll accounting functions in preparation, distribution and reporting of payroll while ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations. They will act as the primary contact for all employee and manager inquiries and offer solutions in a timely manner. This role works as a member of the Accounting team, and collaborates closely with HR and a wider finance team. This role may be called on to perform ad‐hoc projects on demand.

What you'll be doing:

  • Process semi-monthly US/CAN payroll utilizing ADP Workforce Now
  • Collaborate with Human Resources in the administration of payroll
  • Processing of all US/CAN New Hires
  • Maintain confidentiality with employee pay and personnel files
  • Ensure accurate reporting and tax withholding on employee wages, benefits, etc.
  • Enter all payroll-related modifications including wage and tax adjustments and other benefits, 401(k) deductions, garnishments, retroactive pay calculations, etc
  • Oversee, review and process off cycle payments as needed. Process all manual checks, prepare and sort all paychecks for distribution
  • Assist with audit and process all electronic timecards for non-exempt employees in ADP
  • Time & Attendance to ensure accuracy and completion
  • Liaison to ADP for clarification and assistance
  • Provides employee assistance with timecard issues and training in ADP Time & Attendance module
  • Audit employee compensation details
  • Call states directly regarding agency notices
  • Process agency notices within ADP SmartCompliance
  • Keeping track of certain processes and assist in creating documentation as needed
  • Partner in streamlining policies and procedures
  • Partner in audits verifying data accuracy between different systems
  • ADP Time and Attendance knowledge
  • Help verify employee data in ADP through various Integration files
  • Prepare payroll journal entries and reconcile payroll related GL accounts.
  • Support year-end payroll processing/reporting (W-2’s).
  • Format payroll upload files
  • Create reports using ADP iReports and ADP Reporting
  • Provide customer service to employees on payroll related inquiries in a timely manner
  • Following up with employee requests
  • Assist on various ad hoc projects, including communications and follow up with
  • employees
  • Lead and Assist with other special projects, as needed

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of payroll experience
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now
  • Experience with Workday HRIS platform
  • Experience on complex payroll related issues including tax withholding, employee mobility, federal, state and local statutory requirements, and non-exempt employee pay
  • Knowledge of MS Office, including Excel with the experience creating pivot tables,
  • VLOOKUP and capable of handling volume of data
  • Analytical and problem-solving experience
  • Experience in root cause analysis and improving processes
  • Demonstrate a high degree of accuracy and organizational skills
  • Must have the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
  • A collaborative work style, while being equally able to operate independently.
  • The ability to take direction and function as a team player.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Strong, clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage a challenging, fast-paced environment.
