About you and this role - What you will do in this role
In this role, you will serve as a Senior Reliability Engineer for Dow's SRO Site Leveraged Services Team located in Orange, TX. Sabine River Operations is strategically located in the heart of the Dow Gulf Coast sites. As a high value, large site in the Dow fleet, you will have opportunity to learn and deepen your skills across several different technologies and processes.
You will partner with Operations, Maintenance, and the Business Reliability team to define and implement the proper reliability strategy for assigned unit/equipment. You will lead the collaborative effort to ensure sustained reliability improvement through utilization of proven reliability practices and techniques. You will have a strategic role focused on opportunities that have historically impacted the plant’s measured asset capability, as well as those identified as "high-risk" in risk assessments. You have influence on budget forecasting and spending of approved funds to support the long-term reliability improvement.

The Details:
As the Sr. Reliability Engineer, you will be ready to take on the following challenges and bring value to Dow as you:
- Set and Achieve plant Product Supply Reliability (PSR) targets.
- Create Equipment Reliability Strategies based upon Top Opportunity List, Critical Equipment List, and identified plant/business needs.
- Validate ERS implementation, closing gaps to improve and sustain reliability improvements.
- Evaluate effectiveness of individual aspects of the PPM program by showing quantitatively the impact of failures and Predictive Preventive Maintenance (PPM).
- Optimize PPM activities continuously to support overall productivity improvements.
- Identify and resolve Top Reliability Opportunities, decreasing equipment failure losses to meet the site Product Supply Reliability (PSR) improvement goals.
- Develop and maintain a model to identify unit operations, equipment, process, etc. that identifies the value of improvement opportunities.
- Use reliability engineering principles and tools (Weibull, RCI, FMEA) to identify and eliminate negative reliability trends and equipment performance.
- Participate in plant health studies and efforts to implement corrective action to maintain or improve plant health.
- Develop and implement the Facility Reliability Strategy.
- Serve as Root Cause Investigation (RCI) Team Leader with proven RCI skills, as well as coaching others in facilitation to ensure strong corrective action fundamentals are practiced in the unit.
- Provide front end loading support for plant Turnarounds.
- Facilitate the Reliability Team and implement of the Highly Reliable Organization (HRO) principles within the unit, building strong partnerships and coaching/teaching as needed.
- Facilitate the annual maintenance budget setting process.
- Assist maintenance representatives and project teams to design reliability, availability, and maintainability into new plants and equipment systems using Global Project Management (GPM) work process. Creates/updates SAP and PM for new equipment.

Qualifications - Required education, experience and abilities that are needed for this role (must haves)
- A minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or relevant military experience at or above U.S. E6 ranking or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class o
